FAQs & Policies
Convenient online booking is available for both Equilibrium and my Home Studio locations through the Jane App. You can visit each site to view my current availability and book directly.
Direct billing is available to most insurance providers at both Equilibrium and at my Home Studio. I will do my best to have your billing set up before your appointment; however, please allow at least two business days to ensure everything is in order.
Please note that direct billing is not guaranteed. In the event of a service disruption—such as insurance portal issues or connectivity problems—you will be required to pay the full amount at the time of your appointment. A detailed receipt will be provided so you can submit your claim directly for reimbursement.
Some insurance plans also require a doctor’s note or prescription before direct billing can be processed, so please check with your provider ahead of time.
MasterCard, Visa, Debit, E-Transfer
Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment cost.
No-shows or same-day cancellations will be charged the full appointment fee.
If you are feeling unwell, please reach out as soon as possible — exceptions can always be made for illness or emergencies.
Thank you for your understanding and for respecting the time set aside for your care (and for others waiting for an appointment).
Arriving on time for your appointment is crucial.
I understand that life, family, traffic, or public transport can sometimes interfere with your plans. However, if you arrive late, I cannot always extend your appointment depending on my schedule.
On the other hand, if I am running late, I will always extend your appointment to ensure you receive the full time you booked.
Your comfort and wellbeing are my top priorities. The treatment room, table, and surfaces are all cleaned and sanitized between clients, and fresh linens are always used for every appointment.
The bathroom and shared spaces are regularly tidied and disinfected to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
Please note that this is a scent-free space. Out of care for those with sensitivities (including myself), I ask that clients avoid wearing perfume, cologne, or heavily scented products to their appointment.
Every treatment space is a shared space — built on trust, respect, and care. I ask that everyone who enters it does so with those same values in mind.
Massage therapy is a professional relationship. Inappropriate language, behavior, or requests are never accepted and will end the session immediately.
You’re encouraged to communicate your needs throughout your treatment — whether something feels good, uncomfortable, or needs adjusting.
Clear professional and draping boundaries are always maintained to ensure your safety, dignity, and wellbeing.
Please arrive feeling well and grounded. If you’re unwell or under the influence of substances, your session will need to be rescheduled so that care can be provided safely and effectively.
Everything shared in session stays private. Your personal and health information is treated with confidentiality and used only to support your care.
This space exists to support your body, mind, and overall wellbeing — with mutual respect at its foundation.
As a Registered Massage Therapist, I am not an athletic therapist, physiotherapist, or medical doctor, and therefore I do not diagnose any illness, disease, or musculoskeletal condition.
During your session, I take time to listen to your story, your health history, and the details of your concern. I also observe how you move, sit, and carry yourself—these insights help me better understand what may be contributing to your discomfort and to create a treatment plan that supports your goals.
At times, I may share observations or thoughts about what might be happening in your body. These are not medical diagnoses, but reflections meant to guide your care within the scope of massage therapy.
If you require a diagnosis or medical assessment, please consult a qualified healthcare provider such as a physician or physiotherapist.
Before Your Appointment Please fill out your health history form before arriving so we can make the most of your time together. This helps me tailor your treatment safely and effectively. When you arrive, we’ll take a few minutes to review your goals, discuss any areas of focus, and answer your questions.
Getting Comfy on the Table After our consultation I will leave the room to wash my hands. You’ll be invited to dress down to whatever feels comfortable for you and get cozy under the sheet and blanket. I ask that clients leave their bottom underwear on to maintain professional boundaries and professional draping. If you prefer to keep additional clothing on, that’s completely fine—just know it may limit certain techniques. I will always work within your comfort level and ensure you feel safe and respected throughout the session.
Comfort and Communication
I’ll check in throughout your treatment to make sure everything feels comfortable and supportive for you. Your comfort is my priority — whether that means adjusting pressure, technique, or positioning.
Conversation during your session is completely up to you. Over the years, I’ve gotten pretty good at sensing when someone needs quiet time to reconnect or when a little conversation feels right. You’re welcome to talk, rest, or simply focus inward — whatever feels best for you that day.
After Your Massage
We’ll take a moment to check in about how you’re feeling and discuss any follow-up care or stretches that may support your comfort between sessions. It’s common to feel relaxed, calm, or even a little sleepy afterward, so try to give yourself time to ease back into your day.
In my shared clinic space, you may see a prompt for tipping at checkout. Because many different therapists work together, this setting applies to all practitioners and cannot be adjusted individually.
That said, I have set my treatment fees to reflect the value of my work—so tipping is not necessary or expected. Just as we don’t typically tip our dentist or physiotherapist, massage therapy does not require it.
If you still feel called to give in this way, your generosity will be received with gratitude, but please know it’s never expected.
